General Dual VET

Royal Decree 659/2023, of 18 July, modified by Royal Decree 658/2024, of 9 July, which develops the organisation of the Vocational Training system, indicates that the periods of training in a company or similar organisation will be established in each of the years of the duration of the Training Cycle.

Therefore, Dual Training is incorporated into the first year of the Training Cycles.

   Objectives:

  • Incorporate 1st year students into the General Dual In-Company Training.
  • Improve the skills of VET students by increasing the number of hours of In-Company Training.
  • Increase employability by accrediting greater experience and level of training in the workplace.
  • To facilitate access to this Dual model for micro-companies - small businesses - local businesses and the self-employed.
  • To increase the number of students and companies/workplaces participating in the Dual Intensive In-Company Training.

   Characteristics:

  • In general it will be throughout the duration of the whole training cycle that will cover the two courses of the training cycle starting in the 1st year.
  • In this new itinerary the number of hours in the company is increased with respect to previous models. All of them will be of a curricular nature.
  • 128 hours 112 hours for under-age students in the first year of training in the Company or Joint Entity will not be paid due to their curricular nature.
  • At the end of the first course the student will have different options for the 2nd year.
